1. Assessment Methods:

Secondary One to Secondary Three

Weight of each term: First Term: 40%, Second Term: 60%

For each term, there are three components for the subject mark: Uniform Chapter Quiz(UCQ) (10%), Uniform Test (20%) and Examination (70%).

Secondary Four to Secondary Five

Weight of each term: First Term: 40%, Second Term: 60%

For each term, there are three components: Uniform Chapter Quiz(UCQ) (30%) and Examination (70%).

2. Format of Papers

Secondary One to Secondary Three

For the Chapter Tests, there are mainly short questions to assess the understanding of some basic concepts of students.

For the uniform tests and first examination, student is required to attempt one paper only. The paper is divided into 3 sections: Section A (Short Questions, ~30%), Section B (Long Questions, ~30%) and Section C (M.C. Questions, ~40%).

For the final examination, student is required to attempt two papers, Paper 1 (60%) and Paper 2 (40%). Paper 1 consists of two sections, Section A (Short Questions, ~50%) and Section B (Long Questions, ~50%). Paper 2 consists of M.C. questions.

Secondary Four to Secondary Five

For the Chapter Tests, there are mainly short questions to assess the understanding of some basic concepts of students.

For both the first and final examination, student is required to attempt two papers, Paper 1 (65%) and Paper 2 (35%).

The format of the examination papers will be based on the format of public examination papers.

3. Test & Exam Time

Secondary One to Secondary Three

There is a Chapter Test after completing each chapter and the duration of each test is about 40 minutes.
The time allowed for the uniform Tests is 1 hour.
The time allowed for first examination is 1 hour 30 minutes, while that for final examination is 1 hour(Paper 1) and 45 minutes(Paper 2).

Secondary Four

There is a Chapter Test after completing each chapter and the duration of each test is about 40 minutes.
The time allowed for the first and final examination is 2 hours (Paper 1) and 1 hour (Paper 2).

Secondary Five

There is a Chapter Test after completing each chapter and the duration of each test is about 40 minutes.
The time allowed for the first examination is 2 hours (Paper 1) and 1 hour (Paper 2).
The time allowed for the final examination is 2 hours and 15 minutes (Paper 1) and 1 hour and 15 minutes (Paper 2).
